Brisbane Roar confirm Tameka Yallop Injury Update

Brisbane Roar FC can today confirm that club captain and attacker Tameka Yallop will be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining a significant hamstring injury in last Sunday’s A-League Women’s match against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.

Following multiple consultations with leading medical specialists, Yallop is set to undergo surgery early next week. Yallop’s rehabilitation program will commence immediately after the procedure, with the club’s medical and performance teams to support her throughout her recovery.

Current assessments indicate that Yallop is expected to make a full recovery and return to action in the lead-up to the Ninja A-League Women’s 2026 Finals Series, a campaign Brisbane Roar is determined to be part of.

Brisbane Roar, along with the wider Australian football community, is deeply disappointed by this setback for Tameka. The club will continue to stand firmly behind her during this period and looks forward to welcoming our Captain back onto the pitch stronger than ever.

Speaking on the news, head coach Alex Smith said, “We are all shattered by the news of Tameka’s injury. As a group and wider club, we will rally around Meeks and support her through this difficult time.

“I look forward to seeing her back on the field as soon as possible but, have full belief in the talent we have in the squad and our ability to continue to excel going forward.”
