Your Preview: Roar back on the road for Victory clash

Brisbane Roar are looking to return to winning ways ahead of their clash against Melbourne Victory at the Home of the Matildas this Sunday evening.

After a solid performance in their 2-2 draw with Wellington Phoenix in Redcliffe last weekend, Roar will be looking to do one better and take all three points from Victory on Sunday.

WHAT WAS SAID

Alex Smith is confident his side can pick up a big three points away from home and deliver another great performance this weekend.

“It’s a bit crazy that it’s our eighth game and we’re already playing an opponent for the second time,” Smith said.

“It’ll be a tough match, they’ve played a few more games than us. I’m confident that if we show up and really put together a performance like we did against Wellington for 98 or 100 minutes or however long it’s going to take, we’ll come away with three points.”

TEAM NEWS

As for Alex Smith’s side, there will be no changes to his 20-player squad that faced Wellington Phoenix in their 2-2 draw last weekend.

It was confirmed this week that 18-year-old forward Grace Kuilamu will be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining an ACL injury during Round 10 against the Central Coast Mariners at Polytec Stadium.

Kuilamu is set to undergo surgery in the coming weeks with her rehabilitation program set to commence immediately after the procedure. The club’s medical and performance teams will support her throughout her recovery.
