Awer Mabil spoke after opening the scoring in the CommBank Socceroos’ commanding 5-1 win over Curaçao at AAMI Park in Melbourne.
The 30-year-old, back with the Socceroos for the first time since September 2024, earned his first National Team start in three-years and marked the occasion with a goal – his 10th for his country – and first in three years.
He discussed how being back has given him extra motivation to work even harder in Spain with CD Castellon as he targets another FIFA World Cup appearance and finished by discussing Nestory Irankunda’s stellar cameo.
