The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL Women’s side played out a 0-0 draw against Macarthur Rams on Sunday night at Wanderers Football Park.
The Wanderers extended their unbeaten start to the NPL NSW Women’s season on Sunday evening, playing out ahard-fought 0-0 draw against Macarthur Rams at Wanderers Football Park.
In a contest where defensive organisation stood out on both sides, clear-cut opportunities were limited early before the game began to open up in the second half, The Red and Black produced yet another performance that highlighted theincreased maturity and growth within the side that sees them currently occupy third place on the NPL NSW Women’s ladder.
After an even first half, the Red & Black returned with greater attacking intent and began to find more space in the final third. Anika Stajcic looked to have found a breakthrough just before the hour mark when she timed a run in behind theRams defence, only for the offside flag to cut the move short.
The Wanderers continued to apply pressure as the half progressed, with McKenzie injecting energy down the right flank. Her direct running created promising moments, while Nataly’s movement in attacking areas consistently tested the visitor’s back line.

A lofted pass from Keep nearly released McKenzie into space, while Bradshaw then produced one of the stronger attacking moments of the afternoon when she surged forward and found Callil, whose strike from distance was unable to trouble the goalkeeper.
At the other end, Macarthur remained a threat on transition and nearly found the opener in the 80th minute whenPuckett struck a dipping effort from range, but Aimee Hall reacted sharply to push the ball to safety and preserve the deadlock.
The Red & Black came closest to a late winner moments later when Nataly chased down a long ball, beat the goalkeeper to it, but saw her effort blocked by a scrambling Rams defence before the chance could be fully converted.

Bradshaw again found space out wide late in the match and won a corner as The Wanderers searched for a breakthrough, but the visitors held firm. In stoppage time, Hall was called into action once more, punching clear beforeBarton produced an important defensive intervention to deny Macarthur one final chance.
Although the breakthrough never came, the point ensured The Wanderers maintained their unbeaten record to start theseason, with another clean sheet providing further encouragement as the campaign continues.
