CommBank Socceroos forward Mitch Duke said he was thrilled to still be in contention for a spot at the FIFA World Cup™ 2026 at the age of 35 after announcing his plan to retire whatever happens following the showpiece event.
Speaking at team’s World Cup pre-camp in Sarasota, Florida, Duke discussed how nothing compares to playing at the world’s biggest sporting tournament having represented and scored for his country at the last edition in 2022.
He also believed his experience can help the team and was excited to the see the young players taste their first FIFA World Cup™, stating they’re ready.
