Alex Nunes Re-Signs with the Jets

The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that Alex Nunes has re-signed with the Club until the end of the 2027/28 Season.

Nunes has been with the Jets since the age of nine, progressing through the Academy ranks before being rewarded with a scholarship deal ahead of the 2024/25 season at the age of 17.

The now 19-year-old attacking midfielder made his professional debut against Western United in the 2024 Australia Cup qualifying round, before scoring his first goal in the 2025 Australia Cup Semi-Finals against Avondale. 

Nunes has made 13 appearances for the first team across the last two seasons, contributing to winning the 2025 Australia Cup and 2025/26 A-League Premiers Plate under Mark Milligan. He has also received recently received his first call-up to the Young Socceroos, scoring on debut against the Philippines.  

Alex is thrilled to continue his journey in Newcastle,
