The 2026 Wanderers Schools Cup has concluded in memorable fashion, with four schools crowned champions following a huge Finals Day at Wanderers Football Park.
The culmination of months of competition across Western Sydney, this year’s Schools Cup saw 248 teams from more than 70 schools take part, reinforcing the tournament’s place as a major celebration of grassroots football and school communities across the region.
Across all events, an incredible 639 matches were played before 52 teams representing 32 schools earned their place at the Wanderers Schools Cup Finals.
With students competing across the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Boys and Girls divisions, Finals Day brought together some of the competition’s best young footballers for one last opportunity to represent their school and compete for the title.
In the Year 3/4 Boys Final, King Park Public School A secured the championship with a 2-0 victory over Penrith Anglican College.
Holy Spirit Carnes Hill claimed the Year 3/4 Girls title following an entertaining 2-1 victory over Rouse Hill Public School.
King Park Public School A completed an outstanding day by also taking home the Year 5/6 Boys championship, defeating Kingsgrove Public School 3-0 in the Final.
The final title of the day went to St Mary’s Georges Hall, who produced a 3-1 victory over Amity College Prestons to be crowned Year 5/6 Girls champions.
While four trophies were ultimately lifted, the Wanderers Schools Cup once again represented much more than the final results.
The competition provides thousands of young people with the opportunity to connect with football, represent their school and experience the values of teamwork, resilience and participation in a fun and competitive environment.
It also continues the Wanderers’ commitment to creating meaningful connections with schools and communities throughout Western Sydney, using football as a vehicle to bring young people together and inspire the next generation.
With hundreds of teams, more than 600 matches and schools from across the region involved throughout the competition, the 2026 Wanderers Schools Cup was another celebration of the passion for football that exists throughout Western Sydney.
