Wanderers secure Joeys Golden Boot winner Georgio Hassarati

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have secured one of Australian football’s most exciting young prospects, with Joeys and Wanderers Academy striker Georgio Hassarati committing his future to the Red & Black.

At just 17 years of age, Hassarati has already established himself as one of the country’s brightest young attacking talents, earning recognition through a series of standout performances for both club and country.

Having joined the Wanderers two years ago, the centre forward has continued his rapid rise through the club’s football program, developing into a dynamic attacking threat with a reputation for finding the back of the net on the biggest stages.

That reputation reached new heights earlier this year when Hassarati starred for the Australian Under-17 National Team at the 2026 ASEAN U17 Boys’ Championship.

The young striker finished the tournament as the Golden Boot winner after an incredible 11-goal campaign, helping Australia lift the title and establishing himself as one of the standout performers of the tournament.

His exploits for the Joeys have further elevated his standing as one of the nation’s most promising young footballers and highlight the exciting potential he brings to the Wanderers’ future.

For Hassarati, committing his future to the Wanderers is another important step in a journey that he hopes will ultimately lead to an A-League debut in Red & Black.

The young striker believes his biggest strength is his ability to make an impact in front of goal.

“I’d like to say I’m clinical, score a lot of goals and hopefully bring more goals to the Wanderers,” said Hassarati.

Despite his success at youth international level, Hassarati remains focused on continuing his development and earning his opportunity at the highest level.

“To one day make my debut in the A-Leagues for the Wanderers will be a huge milestone for me and hopefully I can get that soon.”

Hassarati also outlined his determination to contribute to the club’s future success and embody the qualities synonymous with Western Sydney football.

“This club deserves success and I’m here to do my part,” he said.

“I want to bring attacking threat, intensity and the ruthless mentality that defines the West.”

Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director Mal Impiombato said Georgio’s signing was another significant investment in the club’s future.

“Georgio is an outstanding young talent and one of the most exciting attacking prospects in Australian football,” said Impiombato.

“To score 11 goals and finish as the Golden Boot winner at the ASEAN U17 Boys’ Championship is a remarkable achievement and highlights the attacking qualities he possesses.

“We believe Georgio has a very bright future ahead of him and we’re delighted that future will continue to be in Red & Black.”
