McMeeken returns for second season at Victory

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Zoe McMeeken has re-signed.

The 22-year-old defender, capable of playing full-back on either flank, has made 61 appearances in the Ninja A-League and will aim to build on this tally during the 2026/27 season.

After more than a half-century of outings across the Tasman, the Melbourne-born New Zealander joined Victory last September and claimed her first goal for the Club in Victory’s resounding Round 2 success away to the Western Sydney Wanderers, before an ankle injury in December saw her miss the rest of the season.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:

“Zoe is a tremendously athletic young player, who balances well the varying demands on a full-back in the modern game.”

“After a strong start to life at Melbourne Victory, injury limited her minutes, so she will doubtless pair her ability with an extra drive this season, which we all look forward to seeing.”

McMeeken said:

“I learnt so much during my first year at the Club, enjoying a fresh challenge and developing under the guidance of Jeff Hopkins.”

“Naturally, it was frustrating to spend a period of time on the sidelines, but that has only increased my hunger to succeed and deliver results for everyone who supports us.”
